Al-Azhar Students Quran Competition to Conclude in March
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The final stage of a Quran memorization competition for Al-Azhar University students and its affiliated centers and educational institutes in Egypt will be held in March.
According to elbalad.news, Saleh Abbas, head of the university’s affiliated institutes, said memorization of the entire Quran and memorization of 25 and 18 Juzes (parts) of Quran will be the categories of the competition in the final stage.
He added that the Quranic event has been organized by the Office for Quranic Affairs of the university.
The preliminary stage of the competition started on November 4, and ran for a month in different provinces of Egypt and 13 top participants were selected for the final competition.
Al-Azhar University is a university in Cairo, Egypt. Associated with Al-Azhar Mosque in the capital, it is Egypt's oldest degree-granting university and is renowned as "Sunni Islam’s most prestigious university".
