The month of fasting is expected to begin in Iran, as well as in many other Muslim countries on Thursday, May 27.
The Imam Khomeini (RA) Husseiniya (religious center) in Tehran will host the meeting, according to Seyed Ali Sarabi, deputy head of Iran’s Supreme Quran Council.
He told IQNA that there will be 14 programs in the meeting, including recitations of the Quran by prominent Qaris as well as teenage Quran reciters, and Tawasheeh and Ibtihal performances.
According to the official, Quran activists, Qaris, Quran memorizers, and Tawasheeh and Ibtihal groups from different provinces, including Tehran, Razavi Khorasan, Hamedan, Qom and Khuzestan will be present at the gathering.
It will begin at 5 P.M. and close with congregational prayers and Iftar (breaking fast) after the Maghrib Adhan (call to prayers).
