Quran Contest for Kids Held in Jakarta
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran competition for children and teenagers was held in Jakarta, Indonesia, earlier this week.
The Jakarta branch of the Dar-ol-Quran Center of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine organized the event, according to the dar-al-Quran website.
Sayyed Muammar al-Mahzar, head of the branch, said it was aimed at promoting Quranic activities and encouraging children and teenagers to get more acquainted with the Book of God.
He said the competition was held as part of programs marking the auspicious birthday anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
The participants competed in three age groups on memorization of the Holy Quran, he added.
According to al-Mahzar, the branch has so far organized a large number of Quran contests in the city for both boys and girls.
