Young Qari Known as Abdul Basit of Morocco
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Bu Juma al-Baaz is a preacher and prayers leader at the Muhammad VI Mosque in the city of Bouznika, Morocco’s Casablanca-Settat.
He is also a Qari and recites the Quran very beautifully. He recites the verses in the style of late Egyptian master Abdul Basit Abdul Samad.
Al-Baaz is known as ‘owner of golden larynx’ and Abdul Basit of Morocco, according to al3omk website.
Speaking in an interview, he said he started memorizing the Quran and learning Quran recitation at an early age thanks to his father’s encouragement.
Al-Baaz says he always listens to Quran recitations by prominent Egyptian Qaris like Abdul Basit and Muhammad Sidiq Minshawi as well as Moroccan Qaris to improve his recitation skills.
