The Astan’s Technical and Engineering Section said the best types of mirrors were used in decoration of the dome’ interior.
A total area of 2,500 square meters in the shrine has been decorated with mirrors, it said, according to the Astan’s website.
The section went on to say that the mirror work was done by skillful Iraqi artisans.
Imam Hussein’s (AS) shrine in Karbala, Iraq, is one of the holiest sites in Shia Islam.
It is annually visited by millions of pilgrims from Iraq and other countries.
