Quran Engraved Tablets Found in Mecca
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Saudi construction company found a number of stone tablets with verses of the Quran engraved on them.
According to elbalad.news website, the tablets were discovered at a graveyard in Mecca where the workers were building a parking lot.
They were handed to related authorities in the city.
One of the tablets date back to the year 655 Hijri (1257 AD), during the reign of Abbasid caliphs.
Excavations continue in the site to find more historical items.
