Mourning Ceremony Marks Martyrdom Anniversary of Shah Cheragh

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A ceremony was held at Shah Cheragh mausoleum in Shiraz, south of Iran, on Sunday evening to mourn the martyrdom anniversary of one of the revered figures buried in there.

Shah Cheragh is a funerary monument and mosque housing the tomb of the brothers Ahmad and Muhammad, sons of Imam Musa Kadhim (AS), the 7th Shia Imam.

The two took refuge in the city during the Abbasid persecution of Shia Muslims.

Ahmad bin Musa (AS) was martyred on the 17th day of the lunar Hijri month of Rajab nine centuries ago.
