TEHRAN (IQNA) – Mankind has many blessings in life, all of which have been granted to him by God. But sometimes he takes them for granted and fails to thank God for them.

Verse 6 f Surah Al-Infitar

The fate of such ungrateful individuals is discussed in Surah Al-Infitar of the Holy Quran.

Al-Infitar is the name of the Quran’s 82nd chapter, which has 19 verses and is in the 30th Juz.

It is Makki and the 82nd Surah revealed to the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Infitar means splitting and cleaving asunder and in this Surah it refers to splitting the skies and celestial bodies ahead of the Day of Judgment. This is what the first verse talks about and hence the name of the chapter.

The Surah is about the Resurrection Day, its signs, how it happens and the fate of Abrar (good-doers) and Fujjar (evil-doers) on that day.

The Abrar receive divine blessings on the Day of Judgment while the Fujjar end in fire of hell.

Surah Al-Infitar draws man’s attention to the blessings of God granted to him and asks him how he neglects them and remain ungrateful.

Among the main verses of the Surah is Verse 6 that says: “O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord?”

It is about those who are conceited and forget about so many blessings given to him by God.

The verse seeks to awaken people and admonish those who are neglectful and ungrateful.

According to Hadiths, the Holy Prophet (PBUH), after reading this verse, said that one’s ignorance is the root cause of his deception and conceit.
