Int’l Festival on Status of Prophet (PBUH) in Najaf

On the occasion of birth anniversary of the holy prophet (PBUH), the first edition of international poetry festival on status of the holy prophet of Islam (PBUH) will be held on January 17 in the holy city of Najaf.


According to the information website of Imam Ali’s (AS) holy shrine in Najaf, the festival will be held under the supervision of Iraqi Shias Endowments Office.



Organization of the international event was discussed at a meeting with the participation of Sheikh Ziyauddin Zeinuddin, custodian of Alawi holy shrine, director of the pilgrimage section of the office, members of the official council of the holy shrine and directors of various sections of the holy shrine.



Ali Khuzair Haji, member of the council, said that the festival aims to attract international poets and promote the literary art in the holy city.



Also speaking at the meeting, Seyyed Mohammad Ali Al-Hakim, member of the council, said that eminent figures and poets from Iraq and some other countries including Lebanon and Iran as well as the neighbor countries of the Persian Gulf have been invited to attend the festival.



He added that hundreds of invitation letters have also been sent for Iraqi figures of different tribes, religions and races such as Kurds and Christians, Iraqi elites and academic figures as well as the country’s scholars and intellectuals.



Faiq Al-Shemri, head of the information office of Imam Ali’s (AS) holy shrine, said that the custodianship of the holy shrine has made necessary arrangements with the media to cover various programs and activities of the international festival.
