Int’l Quran Contest for Students, A Strategic Move

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council for Development of Quranic Culture described holding the International Quran Competition for Muslim Students as a strategic move.

Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Mohammadi told IQNA that the Quranic event helps to enhance unity in the Muslim Ummah.
He praised the Iranian Academics’ Quranic Activities Organization for holding the competition and said it is a smart move in confronting Islamophobic and Iranophobic plots.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi further noted that one of the main functions of the contest is to promote close connection with the Quran among university students.
The 5th International Holy Quran Competition for Muslim Students was held in the Iranian capital city on January 1-4.
Representatives of 47 countries competed in the categories of recitation and memorization of the entire Quran and winners were awarded at the closing ceremony held at Milad Tower on January 4.
