In a message on Friday, Hezbollah said the Syrian people once again showed their commitment to national unity and rejected discord and sectarianism, RT Arabic reported.
“We hope the coming years will mark a great opportunity for Syria to play its natural and progressive role in the Arab world and internationally,” it added.
The Lebanese resistance movement also hailed the Syrian people’s support for the cause of Palestine and rejection of occupation, Takfir, terrorism and aggression.
Assad won a fourth term in office by garnering 95.1 percent of the votes in the nationwide election.
Assad, 55, earned a total of 13,540,360 votes, extending his tenure for another seven years.
