Int’l Competition in Egypt to Convene Quranic Geniuses

IQNA – An international competition of Quranic geniuses and Islamic culture is planned to be held in Egypt this summer.

Egypt’s Awqaf Minister Mohammed Mukhtar Gomaa, the governor of South Sinai hold a meeting

 

Awqaf Minister Mohammed Mukhtar Gomaa said the country’s South Sinai Governorate will host the contest.

He made the remark in a meeting with the governor of South Sinai on Monday, Cairo24 website reported.

According to the Awqaf ministry, the Quranic event is aimed at encouraging Quranic talents from different countries and promoting the Islamic culture.

It also aims to inform the participants about Egypt’s experiences in serving the Holy Quran, it said.

The contestants will compete in the following four sections:

Quran memorization for men (under 35 years) who have won the first or second place in a prestigious international Quran competition;

Quran memorization for women (under 35 years), who have won the first or second place in a prestigious international Quran competition;

Quran memorization for young adults (under 15) who have won the first, second or third place in a prestigious international Quran competition;

Islamic culture for those under 40 who have come first or second in categories like Quran interpretation, Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and Ibtihal recitation in competitions in Egypt.

The international Quran competition for Quranic elites will be held on July 12, 2024.
