Prophet’s Mosque Welcomes Over 5.9 Million Worshipers in a Week

IQNA – Saudi authorities have reported that more than 5.9 million worshipers visited the Prophet’s Mosque last week.

 

According to the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque statistics, 598,939 individuals visited the tomb of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and 254,209 worshippers performed prayers at Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifa.

These activities were conducted in accordance with organizational procedures that manage crowd movement and schedule times for optional prayers for both men and women, said the body according to Saudi Gazette.

The report also highlighted that 9,172 elderly individuals and people with disabilities availed of the services provided to them during the past week.

The authority noted that 22,627 visitors benefited from guidance services, 157,464 availed of translation services, and 12,884 sought information at the library of the Prophet’s Mosque.

A total of 153,068 gifts were distributed to visitors, and 61,207 individuals utilized transportation services.

The report also mentioned the distribution of 180,880 bottles of Zamzam water and 226,193 Iftar meals in the mosque’s corridors designated for those observing fasts.
