Sheikh Muhammad Hussein said the new Quran copy recently imported from Egypt have printing errors despite having approval from Al-Azhar University, Ma’an News Agency reported.
He said the right order of the Surahs (chapters) Ahzab, Saba, Fatir, Yasin, Safat, Saad and Zumar has changed in pages 354 to 392 and some pages are missing.
Sheikh Muhammad Hussein added that the copy was printed by Dar Um-ul-Muminin printing house in Cairo in 2008.
He called on libraries and individuals who have the copy to give it to the Palestinian Dar-ul-Ifta.
The grand Mufti of Quds underlined the need for more careful attention to printing the Quran to avoid such errors.
This is not the first time Quran copies printed in Egypt are recalled because of printing errors. Previously, Quran copies printed by Al-Iman printing house had been recalled because of the errors in the copies.
