Exhibition Features Architecture of Islamic World's Mosques

Tableaus featuring the art of architecture manifested in the construction of famous mosques in the Islamic world have been put on display at an exhibition in Sharjah University in the UAE.


According to Al-Ittihad newspaper, the exhibition titled “art of Islamic architecture and its decorations” was opened on February 4 in cooperation with the History Department of the Faculty of Literature, Humanities and Social Sciences at Sharjah University.

Salah Taher Al-Haj, deputy of social affairs of the university opened the exhibition with the participation of the university’s staff and officials.

The exhibition has been organized in line with the 16th festival of Islamic arts in Sharjah showcasing 65 tableaus of Islamic architecture.

Images from calligraphy museum of Sharjah have also been presented in artworks by Olya’ Abdullah Ajtabi, a student of the UAE, at the exhibition.

The 16th festival of Islamic arts in Sharjah  began on January 7 and will conclude today, February 6.

18 art exhibitions have been held during the festival displaying artworks by 41 artists from Argentina, Azerbaijan, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, Germany, Iraq, Egypt and Turkey.
