Holy Shrine of Hazrat Abbas (AS) Decorated on Birth Anniversary of Imam Hassan (AS)
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Today is the 15th day of the holy month of Ramadan, which marks the birth anniversary of Imam Hassan (AS), the second Shia Imam.
On this auspicious occasion, the holy shrine of Hazrat Abbas (AS) in Karbala, Iraq, was decorated with lights, flags and banners as well as flowers, al-Kafeel website reported.
Some of the banners feature sentences in praise of Imam Hassan’s (AS) virtues.
While the Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrine organized celebrations on this occasion in previous years, there were no such programs this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Shia sources of emulation in Iraq have called for skipping celebrations or holding them online in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
