Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa said in a tweet that no Eid prayers will be organized at the streets like pre-pandemic years.
He also said that all protective measures against COVID-19 will be in place.
The National Research Institute of Astronomy & Geophysics (NRIAG) said earlier this week that this Ramadan will be a 30-day-month according to the results of the institute’s latest astronomical studies.
Therefore, the beginning of Eid al-Fitr will fall on May 2, and its prayer will be at 5:37 Cairo time, it said.
