TEHRAN (IQNA) – The fifth edition of a Quranic course held in Mali by a center affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine wrapped up.

The course featured lessons on Tajweed principles, according to the website of the Astan.

Sheikh Davoud Jakti, representative of the Quranic Propagation Center of the Astan in the African country, said 15 students from different universities of Mali took the course.

It was held for four and a half months and included various Quranic activities, he added.

Sheikh Jakti noted that the branch of the center in Mali’s capital of Bamako hosted the course.

Mali is a West African country the majority of whose population is Muslim.

In the context of the recitation of the Quran, Tajweed is a set of rules for the correct pronunciation of the letters with all their qualities and applying the various traditional methods of recitation.
