TEHRAN (IQNA) – When talking about the issue of believing in God, some look for miracles to have faith. They want to see an amazing and extraordinary phenomenon to know the power of God. But there is no need to look for a miracle because miracles are all around us.

A Miracle Named Human

When messengers of God were sent to people to guide them, one of the first things people asked for was showing them a miracle so that they can appreciate the power of God and the prophets’ words.

There have been numerous miracles from messengers of God, each having certain qualities. After the last prophet, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), God will send no more messengers and thus the era of prophetic miracles has ended. However, there are numerous other miracles all around us that we can learn about by paying close attention. One miracle is human being.

Why should we consider human being a miracle? The Holy Quran says man was created from Salsal, a kind of clay: “We created mankind from clay, molded from mud.” (Verse 26 of Surah Al-Hijr)

A person’s beginning is clay but it becomes a perfect human being with various capabilities.

The Holy Quran advises mankind to reflect on his creation. It seems that thinking about creation of man is enough for anyone who is looking for a miracle to prove the existence of God.

The Quran says: “People, if you have doubts about the Resurrection, you must know that We created you from clay that was turned into a living germ. This was developed into a clot of blood, which was made into a well formed and partly shapeless lump of flesh. This is how We show you that resurrection is not more difficult for Us than your creation. We cause whatever We want to stay in the womb for an appointed time, We then take you out of the womb as a baby, so that you may grow up and receive strength. Some of you may then die and others may grow to a very old age and lose your memory. You may see the earth as a barren land, but when we send rain, it starts to stir and swell and produce various pairs of attractive herbs.”

Imam Ali (AS) also highlights the miraculous and amazing aspects of human beings: “How wonderful is man that sees with fat, talks with a piece of flesh, hears with a bone and breathes through a hole.” (Nahj-ul-Balaqa)
