The Arab country’s Minister of Justice Abdulaziz al-Majed, who is also minister of Awqaf and Islamic affairs, made the remark at a ceremony held to announce the winners of a Quran competition on Tuesday.
His statement was read out on his behalf by the Awqaf Secretary General Sagr al-Sejari.
At the ceremony, the winners of the 25th edition of the Kuwait Quran Grand Contest award, sponsored by the emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, were announced.
As many as 2,222 contenders took part in this edition of the Quranic event.
From among the contestants, 232 Quran memorizers won the award. Also winning awards were 20 institutions.
