TEHRAN (IQNA) – Illustrating the verses of the Quran is among the initiatives of Lebanon’s “Irshad wa Tawjih” (guidance and counselling) Society aimed at facilitating Quran memorization for learners, an official with the society said.

Muhammad Khalil Karaki

Muhammad Khalil Karaki told IQNA in an interview that through illustration and linking the concepts of the verses to tangible subjects, the teachers of the institute help learners retain the memorized verses and the concepts in memory.

He said the society offers integrated Quran memorization programs in its branches all over Lebanon.

Many of those who have learned the Quran by taking the society’s courses have achieved success in local, national and international Quran competitions, including those held in Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan, he noted.

According to Karaki, the Irshad wa Tawjih Society has 21 branches in different cities of the Arab country but the number of the centers needs to increase in order for better promoting and developing the Quranic culture and concepts.

He also said the society considers its cooperation with Quranic institutes in other countries as a key to its success and development of activities.

That is why the society has collaborated and exchanged experiences with Quranic institutes in countries like the Islamic Republic of Iran, Syria, Egypt, and Indonesia, he stated.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Karaki described the Holy Quran as the constitution of the Muslim Ummah and said learning the Holy Book is necessary for every Muslim man and woman.

“We should raise our children with the love for the Quran since early childhood so that the Holy Book will be their guide in life when they grow up,” he went on to say.
