Jordanian politicians and activists organized a program dubbed Karamat (dignity) of Al-Aqsa Mosque, in which they called for more support for the cause of Palestine,

Event held in Jordan in support of Palestine

The tenth edition of the festival was held in the capital Amman by the Islamic Movement of Jordan, according to Quds Press.

The participants condemned the Zionist regime’s Knesset move to call for dividing time and space at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the occupied Old City of Al-Quds between Muslims and Jews.

They said such a move would be a declaration of war.

They also underscored opposition to any kind of normalization with the Zionist occupiers of Palestine.

The participants also voiced solidarity with the Palestinians being held in Israeli jails and called for their release.

Mushir al-Misri, a Palestinian official who attended the festival, hailed Jordanian people for supporting Palestine.

He also said the Palestinian resistance forces are enhancing their preparation for confronting the Zionist regime.

Speakers also commemorated Jordanian martyrs who have lost their life in defending Palestine and Islamic sanctities.

Amit Halevi, a member of the Israeli regime’s Likud party, which has a slim majority in the Israeli Knesset, has proposed a plan to divide the al-Aqsa Mosque compound between Jewish settlers and Muslims, sparking warnings by the Palestinian resistance.

There has been long-held suspicion by Palestinians and the wider Muslim world of the regime’s plans to Judaize Islam’s third holiest site.

Halevi made the deeply controversial remarks during an interview with a Hebrew-language newspaper, where he outlined a plan that would divide the large complex, in which Muslims would be subjected to the southern end that contains the al-Aqsa Mosque.

According to the controversial plan, all the remaining compound, including the central and northern parts, would be reserved for settlers, including the area where the Dome of the Rock, another very holy Muslim site, is located.

Halevi has also proposed that Jordan's role as custodians of both the Muslim and Christian holy places in the occupied Palestinian city of al-Quds be replaced with Israeli authority.
