Zaynab al-Malla al-Sultani, president of Al-Zahra (SA) University in Karbala, made the remark in an address to an online seminar held on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the victory of Iran’s Islamic Revolution.

The webinar was organized by the International Quran News Agency (IQNA) on Tuesday under the title of “Model Woman of Islamic Revolution; Self-Esteem and Revival of Muslim Identity.”

In her speech, al-Sultani underscored the fundamental role and special status of women in raising pious and capable generations in Islamic societies.

She hailed the progress and achievements made by women in Iran after the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution and said the Islamic Republic has made outstanding accomplishments in curbing crises in educational institutions.

She lauded the exceptional status women have gained in the Islamic Republic of Iran in areas such as decision-making, policy-making and education.

Al-Sultani said in Iraq’s holy cities, too, women’s capacities are used in religious institutions, academic centers, universities, hospitals, etc, and they hold major managerial roles in these centers.

Elsewhere in her remarks, the president of Al-Zahra (SA) University in Karbala warned about the enemy onslaughts against the institution of family in Muslim societies and said they seek to waken the status that God has determined for family and undermine its sanctity.

What the enemies want to take away from Muslim women and girls is their humanity, thought, knowledge, dignity and chastity, behavioral balance, morality and values, she stated.

These virtues, are common among divine faiths, and in order to preserve and promote them among women and girls, there should be responsible efforts made in all societies, she went on to say.
